Title: CONE FILTER
Post by MShipley on 12/20/16 at 12:42:10

I have read a lot about cone filters on the sight but don't see any recommendations for GOOD ones. Anyone have recommendations on which to use?

Get a "K & N" filter make sure it doesn't block the smaller air intake port on the carb !

K&N  RC-1250. you have to cut away part of the airbox for clearance if you want to use the sidecovers, or remove the airbox completely otherwise.
Beware, there is a hidden bolt holding the airbox in place, lower left side by the belt cover. Spent 20 minutes trying to lever the box out before I found it! Not in the manual!
Cheers! 8-)

Why do you want a cone filter?  The stock air box with a "drop in" K&N filter will likely give you better air flow (and better weather protection) than a cone filter will.

Well after much reading I think I will keep the stock airbox. Thanks for the responses.
