Title: Boofer's good deed. (Health Care)
Post by Boofer on 12/19/16 at 19:11:03

I will post this fwiw. I have a couple of diseases not related to also bad back that have left me, (technical medical term) "Rubber Legged". I can ride my bike to WalMart but can't walk to far back corner and get back out. Gun shows and other venues were no longer for me. Decided to buy a power chair myself. Craigslist looked ok, but I wanted a break down unit to carry in the back of wife's Escape. $1150 at local "mobility" store. Same model $820 plus $150 shipping from company. Paid $650 through WalMart.com. Shipped to store in 3 days. No extra charges except tax. Got a Scout 4 from Drive Medical. Turning radius is similar to coal train, but I love it. Breaks into 4 peices or goes back together in 1 minute. Heaviest piece is about 30 lbs. Just so you'll know.

I always look to WalMart.com before making a big purchase. Getting free shipping is a good deal, nowadays.

My brother, who can no longer walk, bought something from The Scooter Store. He did buy the log chain from WalMart, I think.

He came out of the Xray Lab at the York Hospital to find a thug riding towards the exit with his scooter. With the help of his Smart Phone, he was able to alert Hospital Security who apprehended the thug.

He now chains the scooter fast to something when he parks it to keep it handy.

The moral of this story is be careful where you park your wheels.

At times like that, when some jerk steals a chair from someone who really needs it, it makes me want to exercise my 2nd Amendment Rights.

Lancer,

Isn't it a hell of thing when a cripple has to carry a log chain to protect his only means of escape.

This world has changed.

I guess I could just break it into and carry the rear half with me. It has a handle. Speed is supposed to be 4.5 mph.
;D
