Title: Less is more?
Post by raydawg on 12/04/16 at 07:44:13

Not on this person(s) level of knowledge of the industry, but I sure fair from it.

Seems to offer up some insightful ideas, and backs them up with possibilities.

You wanna take a stab at it, yea or ney?

ill take a stab with my rusty blade
two examples
did Regans' deregulation of  banking help    look what it lead to
should the covair or the pinto still be in production    both death traps

some regs are helpful others not so much

Oh I agree, but re: product, we have the not so fair tort lawsuits where the attorneys score big time, the plaintiffs pennies on the dollar, and the producer of the faulty/injury product pretty much absolved from further litigation.

This has been a political football as well, and seems the same old parties win, the folks, lose.

Re: banking, you want to elaborate some more w/ Reagan's policies leading to the problem you refer?

Let me give you an example.

Welfare entitlements are meant to be assisting those in need, a good thing, I believe we can all agree to that, yes?
But a way of life, leading to a generational mindset that removes people from stepping up to the responsibility of life and earning their keep.....
Not so good.

That is what I am hoping you can direct me with as to how deregulation is the cause, or effect, or?

Thanks buddy!

Yes, but do you contribute that to Reagan, or were there other mitigating circumstances?

What, 16 years later?

Did he say they had to bundle loans?
No.
All of this came as they tried to regulate it again with requirements, etc.

Using the original domino that fell to knock over all the others, then I guess I could extend that type of reasoning to abortion and murder....

If its only a matter of convenience, the bar that needs to be met to stop a beating heart, then I know some who, if their heart was made to stop, would make my life more convenient  ;D

Until we quit "one blame fits all" and tackle problems and issues on merit, then we have no right to expect repair....

How do you feel about the original article?

o the Chevy Corvair. ... national magazine, The Nation, Ralph Nader charged that the 1960-63 Corvairs had ... the Corvair, few if any know that his charges were false and were proven wrong.

There's nothing on that list I disagree with, whether the article is biased towards airlines or not. I'd rather see a time stamp on laws. Not necessarily a sunset, but revisit them.

At work, I'm a member of our quality clinic. We address heavy hitting issues and come up with corrective actions. We need to review the actions in 6 months or the next time we run the job to see if we made any improvement. Occasionally, with technological advancements, it becomes beneficial to change the process entirely.

This all seems like common sense, to me. Otherwise you have outdated laws. Like in Alaska. Owners of flamingos may not let their pet into barber shops. Obviously relevant.

It  IS, "common sense".

But it seems,  lately, that is not a  Job  Requirement.
Especially in a  Government  Job !

But then, it could be to costly.
Probably, more people would need to be hired.
A group, who answer to a  Secretary, who is  someone else’s assistant Secretary,  who is the Assistant to two more Secretaries, who have a assistant Secretary  each.  And All to busy, because they are playing,  ‘pokey man’, at their work computer.

Their, still is, a  LAW,  On the Books, for the Downtown area in Mpls, which says:
“All Business  Must,  have a  Hitching Post, outside their store”.
Just thinking, that,  like 100’s of thousands, of others,
could just be  ‘removed’.
