Is there a way on this forum to put in a "signature" so that it will appear on every post a person makes?

It would make it much easier than having to type in a "signature" in each post.

Also, I notice many have a little bit of a personal description on the left where their names show up as the poster. How does one put such a short description?

there's a section called forum issues, check in there

Click on CPanel at top.

Click on Profile on left side. It's small and might be hard to find.

You can play with the options from there.
