Title: Pulling trailer with S40 Post by piedmontbuckeye on 11/27/16 at 07:30:27 Has there been anyone on here who has pulled a trailer with the Suzuki? If so, is there a pic of how the hitch was constructed and where on the bike were the mounting points? I have done 3 hitches for various BMW's and they worked really well, but the mounting points seemed to be easier as frames were very solid. Thanks |

Title: Re: Pulling trailer with S40 Post by MMRanch on 11/27/16 at 12:33:01 so , piedmontbuckeye do ya fasten to the frame or the swingarm ? :-? I saw one that had been "triked" with the standard gearing , it seemed to work fine ! :) |

I am perplexed by this response. I DID do a search using the keyword "trailer" and got nothing that even resembled what I was asking here! |

All of the bikes I have equipped with trailer hitches have been to the frame and not the swingarm. I did see one once to the swingarm and from what I could tell, it must have worked fine. I still think that at least one part of hitch should go to frame even if the another part might mount on swingarm (making sure of swingarm movement, of course). |

[/quote] When I typed in "Trailer Hitch" in the search.....I got these and more: (Here is the hitch that we questioned....as it was swingarm mounted and unproven, as he had only used it a few times on very short trips). http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1463533445/0 http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1290745273/769#769 http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1180314971/0 http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1385209984/10#10 http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1343658167/12#12 So the "search" function does work....you just need to spend a little time learning how to make it work for you. |

OK, I'll try again. However, I would think that "trailer" would also include all responses that "trailer hitch" would obtain... Hmmmm... |
