Post by batman on 11/21/16 at 20:38:17

I think it may be time to winterize the bike,IT WAS 70DEGREES SAT,but at midnight temps dropped, and snow began to fall and hasn't stopped.they say it's going to at 5pm Tuesday ,kind of hope so as we have 50inches already!Snowblower got a workout today ,kind of hard to get in the car when the snow is up to the doorhandles.

Which is why I retired to New Mexico from Boston area... When I get snow here the remote controlled solar powered snow removal equipment has my driveway cleared by the time I've finished my 1st cup of coffee.  8-)

Well I kind of like it here ,no droughts ,or hurricanes or tornados or earthquakes . Being retired I just toss a couple of logs in the fireplace, open a bottle of wine ,crank the radio and wait for thaw.I don't have to commute ,so I don't get upset. It is what it is!

Snow is for postcards !

Two things I don't like cold & wet !

I'll take an earthquake every so often kinda shakes things up !

Winter of 72, Tecumseh Oklahoma set records. Ice was so bad that when I parked on main street I was Stuck. It would not back away from the curb. Rear wheel was spinning, idling in reverse..
Getting home was a real trick.

I'll take a hurricane over an ice storm any day.

The ice fishing and snomobiling is better here too.  :P

This time of year I switch the 60 watt bulbs for 100's and turn the thermostat to 79 ..... Where did I put my shorts and flip-flops ??   8-)

Don't forget the Gilligan's Island, Fantasy Island, & Love Boat re-runs to really get "in the tropical spirit."

What we lack in snow, we make up for with humidity!

Summer is just beginning here. Just spent a week 4 wheeling in the high country, saw the remnants of last winter's snow on a 30 deg c day. Sweet  8-).

I am south (panhandle of florida) and it was 38 degrees at night this past week!
42 degrees in the morning ( 3 am) when I left for work... I don't have a snowmobile suit yet... but I am thinking on getting one ! :D LOL

I am still riding 1 hour 50 minutes to work in the morning and 2+ hours back home in the afternoon (traffic)

I am hoping that will change soon (plans to move) so I can ride to work everyday :)

About 35 miles in 20 F was the most I've done. That was with ski bibs and a warm jacket. The trips sure get shorter as the temp goes down. What I REALLY need is heated grips. Any suggestions for the S40?

I had Oxford Heaterz on my previous scooter and they were fantastic.  You think the 1.6 amp/22 watt draw is tolerable on our bikes?  What about if running a 25W/25W LED headlight?  These would round out my Winter needs combined with my hand grip wind deflectors and bar muffs.
