Title: 70!!
Post by oldNslow on 11/17/16 at 19:59:10

The weatherguesser on the TeeVee just said it's going to be 70 degrees and sunny tomorrow afternoon.  70 ! In Northwestern New York in the middle of November. Last time it was this warm this time of year here was 1953.

I'm going to unplug the battery tender and go for a nice long ride. Might be the last one for this year. The TV guy said to enjoy it while it lasts. 30 degrees and 6 - 8 inches of snow by Monday morning. :(

Me too !!!   Take the new green eyed black haired twin jugged girly girl out for a spin on the Beltway just to keep her carbs juiced up good.    75o tomorrow, can't waste that !!!

Savage is still up on the stand, getting its new secondary tank plumbed in (waiting for China Post to arrive with some little bits and pieces).

A high of 74 is forecast for today in KY (rats.....I have a couple of meetings today that require I drive the car).

The rain and cold will move in at 2 AM Saturday morning....the high will be only 42.

I will get a bike out in that small interval after work and before dark.

I got to squeeze in about an hour and a half ride over an extended lunch break yesterday. Low to mid 60s and sunny in Wisconsin. It's supposed to be warm again today but I have to pick my kids up from school after work and the bike won't cut it for that.

Wednesday was 80 degrees.  It snowed Thursday and got down to 18.
60's for the weekend.  Typical Denver.

When I saw the title of this post I thought you were talking about a birthday.  It was nearly 70 degrees here also and I took the S40 out for a nice long ride down my favorite two lane highways and saw lots of bikes out.  Everybody is probably thinking this will be their last ride of the year.  Storm comes in tonight and snow tomorrow.

I'm about 35 miles from Detroit and cruising along Riverside Drive in Windsor yesterday was perfect.
The Detroit skyline looked just like this  https://www.google.ca/maps/place/1000+Riverside+Dr+E,+Windsor,+ON+N9A+2T6/@42.3223144,-83.0277321,3a,75y,318.04h,76.16t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sWSADVRTRj-5Lp00c15ztgg!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DWSADVRTRj-5Lp00c15ztgg%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dsearch.TACTILE.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D392%26h%3D106%26yaw%3D215.45914%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x883b2cc37ffa4ce1:0x5d8759329f3add53!8m2!3d42.3241197!4d-83.0227899!6m1!1e1?hl=en&authuser=0

Here in North Texas we went from 85 degrees on Wednesday afternoon to 35 degrees this morning.

It is time to air out the leathers and the mittens.

I expect suckey weather this time of year (I'm a Wyoming Native, after all), but doesn't mean I have to like it.

Thinking of becoming a Snow Bird...north in Spring, south in Fall. As an ol' platoon sergeant of mine once told our lieutenant,  "Sir, we don't need no practice bein' miserable."

What kinda clothing do you have to keep from freezing?

Title: Re: 70!!

Justin,

I wear a leather coat and leather chaps, (no there are no gay bars in Texas). I also have mittens that are were used for snow mobiling when I lived in Pennsylvania. If it gets really cold I wear insulated underwear and wrap a scarf around my chin and neck.

If my S40 had the electrical capacity I would have heated grips and a heated vest.

Cold here in North Texas is not at all like the cold in Pennsylvania. Here I can ride almost the whole 12 months in PA I never could never ride much more than 10 1/2 months.
