Has anyone else bought one of these? Got mine yesterday, and as expected, the end for the exhaust is too small, and the other end for the Dyna is too large. At least 1-2 hours work with hacksaw, wire brush and dremel needed. Total PITA!
The exhaust end is not slotted, clamp will be totally useless. Am I supposed to seal it with exhaust paste?
Fortunately my other S40 doesn't need it, as shocks are shorter than 12.5" and there is no interference.(12" shocks are fine)

You mean the short section of pipe that offsets the muffler so it clears the rear sets?

I bought the RYCA long (quiet) muffler and the fold-up rear-sets. Without the adapter thingie, the brake lever hit right on top of the pipe.
I got the adapter from RYCA. Trimmed the head pipe as instructed. Bought the sexier clamps.
The adapter fit the muffler well. And with the clamp, it's a good fit.
Took quite a while of sanding, grinding, filing, causing, etc to get the adapter to fit the head pipe.
As you noted, with no cuts, it's had to make the fit a tight one.
RYCA suggests slathering up the joint with high temp silicon. I think I'll go step further and do it with JB Weld. Once I know I have the beast lined up and happy, I'll pull i apart and use either JB Weld, or the high temp exhaust port epoxy that I bought to fill tip the cavities on the exhaust port.
Basically a good piece, but not a bolt-on.

I have the same pipe as Armen. I used the split adapter from RYCA. I cut the pipe as the instructions suggest and everything slipped together perfectly. If it's not fitting together, it may have been modified incorrectly. Can you post some photos?

the chrome on the muff end adds thickness, which is dumb. the other end doesn't look expanded, which they claim.
The exhaust 'cement' is non-organic, and slips off easily when you have to take it apart. I wouldn't use anything organic on a really hot part. cheers! 8-)
I'll probably try something else before I hammer on this adapter. May sell it!

If I remember correctly, my muffler came with three adapters - only one fit perfectly.

Did not have an issue with mine. It was snug on both ends, tapped it with a soft hammer, and nothing needed to seal.

Same with one that I have....it works just fine.

Perhaps they have a quality control issue between batches.

Yup. prob just the usual manufacturing tolerances.
I look it as we have a niche market here-tarting up Suzuki Savages.
If it was an HD, there'd be 20 outfits making the part. Here we have one.
When it boils down to it, it took me a bit of time and grief to make it fit. And I'll goober up the gap into the head pipe. I can do that. I can't do really sexy tubing bends, and by the time I find a plater to plate one little piece, it'd be a ton of time and money.
So, basically I'm happy with the gag. Now the brake lever clears, and the muffler lines up.
In the bike biz 'Just Bolts On' is kinda like "I don't think I'm contagious".
Believe it if you want, but better to be cautious. ;)
