Title: Unusual Request. I Actually Need a Quiet Pipe Post by savagebruh on 10/26/16 at 13:19:44 I know most people usually want the opposite but I actually want something quieter. I just got a 2004 Savage and it has a Supertrapp pipe installed. Even with my heavy duty earplugs it gets too loud for my comfort once I'm in third or fourth gear. I already have pretty severe hearing problems and want something that doesn't bother me so much. I know loud pipes help keep you safe and everything but I care more about my ears safety right now. What's the best option? Should I buy a used stock Savage pipe? Or is there a cheaper option like some of the ones on ebay? Thanks |

You can remove 2 screws/bolts on the side of the can (not the rear) and put wrap new glass around the baffle. And you can reduce the number of disks to 6. this might make it a bit rich so you should check the jet sizes. |

I liked the DYNA muffler, it was much better. The stock muffler is even more so. You should be able to find either one very affordable. I have a stock one that is some rust on it - but you are welcome to it for the cost of the shipping. Dave |

About selling the Supertrapp, I'm not totally sure how many discs it has but once I replace it I'd be totally willing to sell it for a good price. |
