Baught a used 2003 650 and am tring to get it set up. Adjusted idle mix screw and found no change. Pulled screw and found spring and no rubber washer at end. Can I get one locally or where do I find one?  Thanks  James

If you have a local ACE hardware, it's worth a shot checking there. Not guaranteed they will have one that small, but I have been impressed with how much my local ACE has.

Also, make sure you look down in the hole and don't see the rubber washer in there. It doesn't always come out just by pulling the screw...it's in there sorta snug.

I thought it just landed in a tapered seat, I didn't know a rubber Anything was involved.

Also, dropping idle RPM allows you to pick out the effects of the adjustments.

I thought the same thing.

What do you mean by you "pulled the screw"? Drop the idle and adjust the screw 1/8 turn or so until you find the highest idle speed. Then turn your idle back to the correct 1100 rpms.
