Title: M/C of the future?
Post by badwolf on 10/12/16 at 10:39:07

BMW's vision of the m/c of the future..

http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/bmws-motorrad-vision-next-100-concept-motorcycle-is-your-futuristic-escape-plan/#/1-14

It only needs a retractable canopy to look like a bike from  "TRON"
No rear fender, and all kinds of hi-tech krap to make your riding experience more "pure"!
NO THANKS!!! Why do they insist on telling us we should have tons of things ''automatically'' done for us? Do these designers have their heads so far up their ass's they never ride?

"Without the need for a helmet or protective gear?"

I guess they are going to keep folks from pulling out or turning in front of us.....and controlling those pesky deer?

If the motorcycle is in control of the movement and reaction of the bike.....it sounds way too "sanitary" for me.  I want to be involved in the riding process.......not just be a passenger on the trip.

I like the little hand gesture to turn on the turn signal. That seems way easier and safer than just using the button by your thumb.  ::)

I sure as heck hope not. Then again, I fairly certain that I (or my children for that matter) will not be riding that contraption 100 years from now.

Of course, it's a show bike never to be ridden.
it has elements that'll injure the rider in an accident or even during aggressive riding.
if I'm going to put on eye protection... that'll be impacted by the irreverent bug from time to time... I don't want that impact taken up by the nose bridge... gimme a freaken helmet.  dine al fresco anyone?
Yeah, gimme a stupid hand wave for a turn signal... you guys ever heard of voice command?  or better yet, let go thought control (you must think in german)
BTW, leave it to the germans to divorce the Zen of riding and concentrate on the machines of priest.

One thing is for sure, they won't be running on gas.

That is what happens when you ride an imaginary motorcycle without a helmet...the imaginary wind blows your hair back!

But in Hellery's case, it's her own wind or Donald's.

I just e-mailed BMW motorcycles and told them how irresponsible the statement of no helmet needed was.

Definitely WON'T be purchased by Old Dudes with arthritic backs and necks - unless those smarty pants can come up with a cure for old age, or develop a more upright seating position. ;D

I think they've lost their imagination. When I was a kid the future was supposed to have us all in flying cars by now. That bike doesn't look like 100 years of advancement.

So...how do signal for a right turn they didn't show us that!Maybe the bike is just for racing ...left turn left turn left turn

To Whom it may Concern,

I am just one of many motorcyclists who have an issue with the advertisement of your concept motorcycle the Motorrad Vision Next 100 as a bike that does not require a helmet. It does not matter how technically advanced this bike would be, telling people you do not need a helmet while riding is encouraging dangerous behavior.

Does this technology keep you from being rear ended by inattentive drivers? Does it keep animals from unpredictably running out in front of you? Does it keep other drivers from slamming into you at intersections? Just because the bike may stay upright it will not keep the rider on the bike, have you ever heard of inertia?

No, advertising that you do not need a helmet while riding this bike is very irresponsible of your company.
