Find out where it is still leaking........and fix it.

Some of this stuff we can't figure out easily when we aren't there to see what is going on.

It could be that the rubber seal for the wire loom is not sealing, and you need to clean it to remove oil and dirt, and put some RTV sealant on it when you assemble it.

I did that when I installed the new gasket I just read they said these older ls650 will leak some

They don't have to leak.....you can clean it off and find out where the oil is leaking, and fix it.

Photos or a description of where the oil is coming from would help.

If you are talking about the seam where the case halves come together - they only leak when the footpeg bolts are loose.  The bolts go all the way through the engine, and when they get loose it can seep oil out onto the left side.

Try tightening the two long bolts that go through the footpeg mounts.  You will need to hold a wrench on both sides to keep them from turning (one side is a bolt head, the other side is a nut).

I believe you need to go a good scrubbing, then try and find exactly where the leak is coming from.

Does it leak all the time even when sitting, only after the bike has been ridden and is hot.....is it just a drip on the floor - or is oil running down the side of the bike?
