Title: Need some wisdom counterbalance gear tolerance
Post by Witchdoctor on 09/28/16 at 00:05:50

Hello
I haven't been active here just getting my bike together finally. Crank roller bearing and counter balance bearings were shot. Bike has about 19k miles if I remember right..
Put the cases back together tonight and I might be highly paranoid but the gears on the counterbalance/crank make a slap at top dead center and have a hair of freeplay.. They are kind of dry so that might be part of it..
Wondering if there is a way for me to measure the tolerance on them before I go any further?... :(
Don't know if anyone have warn them out of spec before or if that's even possible they seem super strong?  :-?
Would suck moose wiener if they need to be replaced I gotta wrestle that crank nut off and all that fun stuff again.  :'(
