Title: 60 mph Post by Dagillespi on 09/25/16 at 14:30:56 So I've opened up my exhaust a bit (alot), and welded in a snuffer nut but the bike will currently top out at 60 on a hill and 70 on the flats. I ordered a jetset, but my question is could it be anything else? I've put 4k on the bike since I got it in June and before I cut the exhaust I never took it above 60 so I have no basis for comparison. Also bought some sweet narrow 12" bars will be cutting a little more off before mounting them, gonna Clear coat the bare metal so I can appreciate the beautiful welds I think will try and post pics when installed. |
Title: Re: 60 mph Post by Dave on 09/26/16 at 03:25:11 Has the carb ever been cleaned? Sticky slides can limit the top speed. When it reaches 60....does it just run out of power smoothly, or is there some bucking/jerking going on? |
Title: Re: 60 mph Post by Dagillespi on 09/26/16 at 14:21:46 Well I think I figured it out. I removed the snuffer nutand now it has all sorts of power, WAY to loud for the street so I ordered a slip on shorty pipe. As far as the cleaning goes I will give it a good one when replacing the jets. Top speed is now around 80 but I expect it will get better after the rejet. Thanks for the reply Dave. |
