Title: Distinguished Gentlemans Ride-Sponsership request!
Post by Dave on 09/09/16 at 09:34:05

On September 25th I am going to ride my Savage Cafe' bike and ride in the Cincinnati Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.  The goal it to raise funds for research in Prostate Cancer and Mental Health.

I am sure my bike will make a better showing than I do - but still I will get as presentable as I can.

Please consider helping to fund my participation.......it is a great chance for the Savage forum to show those other bikers that we are a close group!

There you go Dave. done. Have a great day.
I'm going on the ride too. Feel free to throw some coin my way!!!! I haven't been pushing the fundraising very hard this year. My friends and family have been really generous the last couple rides so I think I've milked them enough. Instead, I'm getting a couple other riders along and loaning them appropriate bikes, so they can do the fundraising on my behalf. I'll be on the Savage bobber, the mates will ride my Enfield and Ducati. Should be fun. Pip pip, cheerio!

Thanks....I have $ 365 in donations and I am now 5th of the 48 riders who have registered!

I got my pudding bowl helmet and goggles out and rode with them on for a bit last night - boy is there a lot of wind noise!  (My full face helmet evidently cuts down the wind noise more than I thought).

Wind noise creates fatigue. Ear plugs, dude..

Absolutely..I even wear ear plugs with my full face helmet!

The ride route appears to be around downtown Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati -most likely we will never get over 30 mph on the route they have planned.

Yep, earplugs are a must.

Ear plugs are a must even with a full-face. When I'm tired, I've got a ringing in my ears that wasn't there before I rode with no ear protection. I use a set of these https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/hearos-xtreme-ear-plugs/ID=prod6247242-product but in flesh tone since that's what the local Walgreens had.

I picked up a huge box of them a couple years ago and keep them in the garage. I use them for riding, when I'm cutting the grass, and also used them with a race car that I used to have.

While my good friend was riding with you (Suzuki GS500, and my Biltwell Gringo) I was riding my S40 with his wife and another friend.
He commented that your attire, with the cafe, was the most distinguished look in the event.

Man...I didn't feel very distinguished.....I looked more like a guy riding a motorcycle to a funeral!

The young red headed woman had a great look.....brown leather boots up to her knees, tweed pants, a great vest and hat!  There were also several men that were very dapper!

I am going to do some advanced planning and shopping for some suitable clothing.  The only thing I was happy about was my pudding bowl helmet and goggles.....they look weird by today's standards...but they did look "vintage".

It happened so fast.....I didn't get any pictures.;

There were so many photos, I figured I would find them online somewhere - but I haven't found them yet.

Luckily.....someone posted a video online.

He did mention her, as well. And that he was disappointed that he didn't take more pictures.
I, on the other hand, enjoyed taking the back roads to Waynesville for breakfast.
