A nifty cliche that  applies great in dealing with human emotion.

If we perceive that someone hates our guts then we Feel as if it's so. We can be wrong. And yet, the impact on our lives is the same as if we're right.

Yes, caveats exist, TRY to be reasonable and understand the concept.

Seeing someone who is walking across a tightrope between buildings from a distance that makes the rope invisible
doesn't mean the guy is levitating.

Misunderstanding, wrongly perceiving, assembly instructions, doesn't mean that it's gonna work.

############ excerpt

It was a strategy of using perceived reality to change objective reality.

Apparently they are different.

In these cases, Objective Reality 1 was that the countries had resources. The Perceived Reality was that using those resources as collateral on loans to finance the building of infrastructure projects would create economic growth and prosperity for all the citizens. Objective Reality 2, however, was that economic growth occurred only among the very wealthy. Since economic statistics (GDP) in such countries are skewed in favor of the wealthy, the fact was that only our companies and the wealthy families benefited. The rest of the population suffered. In many cases this has led to political unrest, resentment, and the rise of various forms of radicalism and terrorism.

Ohhh, but nobody wants to know this stuff.
Might challenge some basic beliefs.
Can't be having That, now can we?

Heck, I bet everyone would just as soon listen to Charlotte Iserbyt..
Aaaarrrgghh,,
She challenges those comfortable lies, too..

Well,, there is always
Creature from Jekyll Island

Where you can get the history of money, and Tally sticks are interesting, a fiat currency with intrinsic, by law, value.
Ours?
Debt based fiat..
Sure is a great system...
For someone.

reminds me of Newt

facts vs feelings

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnhJWusyj4I

Newt takes feelings everytime!

"Newt Gingrich Feels that Feelings are more important than Facts! Not only that, he further demands that his feelings are now fact!"

Which, while interesting, is in no way related to the post.
The point here is that the same guy who wrote
Confessions of An Economic Hitman
Is explaining some of the con man part of what he did.
I'm really trying to get people to think about foreign policy and what we do Prior to actually invading.

I agree, newt is topic worthy. I developed a deep hatred of him
the 90's.
Hey, he isn't alone in believing his feelings should be reality.
Maybe he is really a democrat.
