It simply does not brake.

I replaced the shoes (item #64400-44810), it does not brake.
I moved slightly forward the lever on the cam, it does not brake.
I screwed the nut on the cable...guess what?

What am I doing wrong?

No one touched it.
I bought the bike 12 years ago and the rear brake has never properly worked.
I replaced the hub, the panel and all that I have listed above.

Everything seems to work, even if I manually act on the lever, the cam opens the shoes which should touch the hub...

Have you tried to do anything with the pedal or cable? Those might need to be cleaned and lubed.

The stock brake normally works a little bit too good and locks up easily.....so there is definitely something wrong with yours.

I don't have another pedal, but I'll try replacing the cable.
Unfortunately I don't have a new one.

I am not suggesting you install a new pedal or cable - but that you take them apart and clean and lube them. The pivot point on the pedal may be gummed up and gritty from all the crap the front tire throws on it. The cable can be cleaned and lubed with a pressure cable luber.

You mention that you replaced the shoes. Did you take the time to view the operation of the system before the brake assembly was put back into the hub? Did the entire surface extend for both shoes? My guess is that the mechanism isn't properly assembled and the shoes have poor contact. This can be confirmed by looking at the wear pattern of the new shoes. The wear should be even across the entire surface for both shoes.

Yes I did it before (with the old shoes on) and after, it works.
I replaced the old shoes, but they're still pretty new.

Dave I meant that I'll clean and lube the other (used) cable then I'll replace mine.

Take some fine sand paper and clean the shoes and drum friction surfaces, then blast them with brake cleaner.

Until you push the pedal and OBSERVE the brake actuation arm move you don't know anything.
I would lay a Hand on the arm on the rear hub and manually engage the brake.
Don't spend another penny solving a problem that you don't understand.

You" moved the arm forward" That's the wrong way ,you should be moving it so the end the cable inserts into is farther from the pedal
