Title: Handlebar risers? Post by norm92de on 07/22/16 at 12:34:22 Does anybody know of a source for handlebar risers. I would like a set of plain 1" diameter 3" long alloy risers. Anything shorter will probably give me tank clearance issues. I found some 2" long some time back but I can't remember where I found them. There are plenty of risers out there but plain cylindrical types are not so easy to find. Thanks. |
Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by verslagen1 on 07/22/16 at 12:48:42 I can make them for you for cost of materials and shipping, but I won't polish them for you. There are some available, ACE, Lowes or Osh. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1306027682 http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1296279177 |
Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by norm92de on 07/22/16 at 17:14:51 Thanks Versy, I can make some myself but as you say polishing is another matter. I found some on the net that were finished in black or chrome. they were 2" long but for the life of me I can't remember the site. I really want something a bit longer to avoid tank/handlebar issues. I also of course want to use the stock handlebar clamps just changing the riser part. I don't want to cut the stock parts because they cost $130 apiece! Using sockets is definitely an option but only as a last resort. Norman. |

Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by LANCER on 07/22/16 at 17:58:09 I think I might have a set. I will check in the morning. UPDATE None of the ones I have will work, they all require larger bolts and are 4" & 4.5" & 6". |

Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by norm92de on 07/23/16 at 10:26:50 Thanks for the replies Gentlemen, All of the risers that I have found are for Hurleys. The mounting bolts are too big for our bikes. Also the spacing on a Hurley is different. I don't know if a 3" plain spacer is made and a 2" will be too short. I may have to resort to cutting the stock risers which are expensive to replace if I don't like the results. :'( |
Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by KennyG on 07/23/16 at 10:54:00 Norm, I am sure there a lot of guys on here willing to sell the stock risers if you decide to go back. What year is your bike? Someone here will know exactly how tall you need the risers to be. The deal Verslagen offered you sounds like a bargain. Aluminum is easy to polish..... Kenny G |

Title: Re: Handlebar risers? Post by norm92de on 07/23/16 at 13:13:19 Guys, Thanks for all the help. I took Versy up on his generous offer and bought a head plug at the same time. This way I won't mess up the stock parts. Norman. :) |
