Title: Spare parts list.
Post by Violent_Rage on 06/20/16 at 06:28:14

Hello everyone,
what do you think about making a list of spare parts, even of other manufacturers and models compatible with the Savage?
I'd like to create a shared document on Google Drive.
It could become a good starting point for those wishing to customize his bike.

Sounds like an awesome idea to me!

Let's start with the 1985-1990 Kawasaki 454LTD and 1990-1995 Kawasaki EN500 front pulley.

Ok
let me know your gmail account (better in PM) and I'll share the file.
This is the public link that allows you only to view the file:

I thought to structure it like this: Item , Assembly and Year of  standard parts, then, manufacturer, model and year of compatible spare parts.

The sheet is shared, as I said, so feel free to modify it as you wish.

Enjoy.  ;)

Can it be modified publicly?

Need to add 97-04 Suzuki VZ800 Marauder OEM Headlight.

Yes but I'd rather share the document only with trusted people.  :)

True. It does require extensive (expensive?) modifications to fit.

The stock timing port cover has a slot in it, and it can be difficult to remove.

You can get one that has a hex drive so you can use an allen wrench - they come in chrome from a M50/C50 or VS800 Intruder, and painted from a DR650.  The painted one can be stripped and polished to match the S40/LS650,

Part # 09259-36008(chrome)...09259-36016-20H(painted)...

The rear pulley from an 82-83 Kawasaki KZ750 has 65 teeth rather than the 68 teeth of the stock pulley...the part number from Kawasaki is 21053.  It can be used on the Savage with machine work on the Suzuki hub, new holes drilled in the pulley to match the Suzuki bolt pattern, and in combination with the front Kawasaki Pulley as the belt it too long to use only the Kawasaki rear pulley.

Both seem to be used in a large number of Suzuki models.
I will not list them all, being, in fact , the same parts.

Thanks!  ;)

You might mention in there somewhere that the plug has a hex head....rather than the stock slot.
