Title: Simply awesome stuff......
Post by raydawg on 06/12/16 at 08:29:45

Yesterday was my wife's birthday.
We saddled up and went to the confines of the big city, Seattle, to see a display of glass.
Some might know my wife works with glass, and sells her creations around the world, so it was of special interest to see this display.

The artist is a native born of the state, and has done work throughout the world.
The displays are amazing, and I highly recommend a viewing of his work if you ever get a chance.

Here is a picture I took with my Iphone.
I am stand at one end on the 40 by 15 foot (approx) display.
It doesn't do it justice, but I hope it gives you an idea.
His glass is all hand blown.

And this display is approximately the same size but has more a sphere shaped theme.....

His work really highlights his fondness for the garden and sea, as most of it takes its seems to echo a semblance.....

Dawg,

They had that display at The Arboritum in Dallas a couple of years ago.

It is something to see that you can never forget.

raydawg - outstanding work! I went to high school with a guy whose grandpa was a glass blower. Gramps went to some school in England, and paid for my friend to attend the same school. I've always been impressed by those who could make glasswork, in addition to those who can create with wood and metal.

I'm not sure I would be the best person to go to one of those displays....

As a kid I LOVED the sound of breaking glass so much I was one of the kids running around throwing rocks at windows of abandoned factories :)

I still like the sound of glass breaking.... ROFL... when at the local watering hole and the bartender or table cleaners throw the beer bottles into the trash and bust them, I shout "again! again!" LOL... (well not every time).

Wow, never heard of such a infatuation.....
Now nails on a chalkboard, yeah baby....
Not that I dig the sound, no, I just love getting under the skin of others  ;D

I enjoyed breaking fluorescent light bulbs. The eight footers were a hoot. Javelin into a cinder block fence, watch it disappear.
I can't even use an emory board or nail file,, just grosses me out..
