Title: Narrower belt?
Post by Armen on 06/09/16 at 19:33:43

Considering that there are much heavier and more powerful bikes out there with narrower belts, it seems plausible that the Savage could be happy with one.
Anyone find a combo that would work on a Savage? Preferably taller gearing?
I'm thinking 1" or maybe just a bit wider.
thanks,
-Armen

I don't think anyone has come up with a replacement other than stock.

Harly belts are narrower but run on larger pulleys ,their to stiff to be used on ours and their pulleys are to big around to fit your bikes.If you want different gearing you'll have to go to a chain or the kawa front and/or rear pulley conversion.

yes, it's called a chain conversion.
look it up in the tech section index.

Harley belts have round teeth while ours has square.
The just don't fit right on our pulley's; I have tried it before.

I don't think Harely belts are stiffer,.. ours are stiff as hell...  :-?

I think they used our belt 'cause it's cheap industrial grade...
,,,but,.. I like the wide look...  Beefy...
Grrr,.. Arghhh!... ::)

It is so wide it kicks the shocks out. I'd like to tidy up the ass end of the bike. I'm thinking narrower belt, move the shocks in a bit.
And the added width is probably more frictional loss on an already dickless powertrain.
