Title: New front pegs
Post by phatmanswingin on 06/04/16 at 20:21:15

I need new pegs. I did some research here and I know there's someone selling them on eBay that are drilled to fit the savage. I think their called dzcustoms, anyway there around $60. I also noticed I can get these same pegs online for about 20 to 30 less. Why can't I just drill my own hole to make them fit my savage? Am I missing something?
A little help [ch9786][ch9786][ch9786].

Phat,

Keep an eye on the forum as someone will remember a post.

As I recall someone used an inexpensive bushing from Ace Hardware to adapt a Chinese knockoff of the Sportster pegs to the Savage/S40.

You may be able to figure it out yourself.

If you look at The Market Place you may find someone selling genuine Suzuki pegs.

They are pretty repairable.

Sure you can drill yer' yer' own hole...

That little foot-stop on the end of factory Savage pegs helps support and keep the pegs horizontal.
Aftermarket pegs won't have it... but many people work around that,.. mostly by tightening the pegs down to rigid.. I think...

$30 is a high price for two holes.. :-/

The holes are free, knowing where to put them, $30.

Some have posted that the pegs will droop when drilled.
You can drill them yourself, but may require some fitting to make them perfect.

I bought these...

I went to ACE hardware to get different washers/bolts/nuts to make them work w/o drilling them out...
they work fine
no droop...in fact they kinda have a rise to them...but that may just be me... ;D

Nope...I took the pegs with me and the old hardware and goofed around trying different sizes.
Depending on the pegs you get you should do the same...
Better than making a bunch a trips
