Title: Bring your Shotgun to Work Day!
Post by Dave on 05/20/16 at 07:06:11

A bunch of the people at our company have been invited to go to a "Sporting Clays" event this afternoon......so more than half us brought our shotguns to work today.!

We went last year...it was a lot of fun!  I used a Winchester 1897 that belonged to my grandfather....I had the oldest shotgun at the shoot, and I will be shooting it again this year.  Maybe I can work on my "hold" and do a bit better this year....I think I had the butt up against my shoulder for the first shot - but when I pumped the gun to reload for the second shot, I believe the butt was moving over to my arm....after 60 shots it left a mark!

wow I wish my job did stuff like that, sounds like a blast
my Mossy Maveric might not be so good for sporting clays, but I bet I'd still have a blast...and maybe a bruise

When you're out of ammo, just slap 'em with it!

Well it went well and was a lot of fun.  The clay targets seemed to be really fast on some of the courses.  I did really well for a fellow that has only done this this year an last year.....and before that it was 30 years since I used a shotgun.  I hit 48% last year, and I hit 56% even with what seemed like a harder course.  I also believe I did a better job holding the gun, and my bruise is going to be closer to my shoulder and not out on my arm.

Attaboy, Dave!

You don't look short, but you've said you are, and, guns, like bikes, are built with some average person in mind. The ideal length of a stock, from trigger to shoulder, is determined by the arm length. You might need to reshape the butt of the gun.
You'd customize the bike to fit your butt..

Frikken WOW! I saw the barrels, but had no idea that they all went off at once. Fifty caliber, X7= 3.5 inches of projectile Diameter, not even considering the length. That's Nuts.. And no, I didn't write dooxtwo..
