It is 11:30 PM and I just sent a text to a guy from Craigslist. He has an '87 Savage listed as a parts bike for $350. It shines like a new dime and from the photo it looks totally original. He said he was riding it last weekend, and it backfired and quit as he pulled into his driveway. It's supposedly firing but won't start. It has 8500 miles. I hope he calls me in the morning. It seems he doesn't wrench on his stuff and wants it gone. Plus a clear title. :) My bike has 26,000 on it. I've been wondering about finding a replacement, even though it runs good. I'll know tomorrow if I'm too late. He's about 100 miles away. Boofer

Never know....it could be something as simple as a failed petcock.

as Dave pointed out, maybe a failed petc0ck, OR a loose connection under the tank, blown fuse possibly

Parts bike gone to a guy who drove 150 miles from Alabama. Must have been good as it looked. :'( Boofer
