Title: widest rear tire? Post by striknein on 04/27/16 at 14:31:32 I've done some searching, but I haven't found an answer. I'm planning a bobber build, and I'd like to throw a wider tire and bobbed fender in the rear. What's the widest tire that will fit in the stock swing arm? |

Normaly you have to swap out the under fender bolts for button heads, but if your bobbing it they might not be a problem. True classic bobber would be a 16" rim front and back with Shinko 240, or 270's. (old style straight tread) http://www.shinkotireusa.com/tires/cruiser/classic |

Title: Re: widest rear tire? Post by badwolf on 04/27/16 at 19:28:47 If he is building a bobber, I don't think handling is his top concern. I don't see many of them doing long rides, or scratching corners with the sportbikes. His first couple of skunk stripes might make him rethink the fender thing. |
Title: Re: widest rear tire? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 04/27/16 at 20:57:02 The roads around here are crummy. Even wearing full face helmets, crud hit under the chin in some corners. I can't imagine not having a fender. Fend off Defend Fend for yourself They really are there for a reason. If Jethro hadn't been such an idiot, he woulda built seat belts outta rope. |
