So, I'm planning to fix what I believe is causing my oil leak on my bike. I think it's the head plug that everyone keeps mentioning. While i'm replacing it I plan to RTV the head cover and whatever else i can.
I found a good forum that showed how to replace this plug without actually having to take the bike off of the frame so i'll see what I can do.

The problem I have though is that I don't know where to buy this plug and what all I have to do with it. Do I just replace it or do I need to seal it somehow?
Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Use factory recommended stuff on the head cover. Like Yamabond, not RTV.
Much to read before wading in there. Know exactly how many bolts are involved, which Must be In the head cover as it goes on,which is upside down, a cardboard box with the shape of the head cover drawn, an X for each bolt,
And that's just the start..

Link? I tried looking up that name and it didn't pull up a parts website? I'm afraid i'm not familiar with this name.

Versy's plug is very nice, but you can also get the factory plug from any Suzuki parts dealer, either a real shop or online.

There were two versions of this plug. The improved, later part replaces both of them. My 2001 had the early one. The online site I ordered from (don't remember who it was) sent the newer improved one. The improved one sticks up higher than the old one and may stay forced down into its hole my the valve cover. (like Verslagen's) I sealed the factory plug in with a little suzukibond.
