Has anyone successfully moved the carb to a side mount?

maybe with something like this:

I have seen a few bobber/rat Savage builds where it has been done. It really wouldn't be the best from a performance standpoint, as it would add a flow restriction and turbulence - but it wouldn't likely cause and weird running problems.
