Anyone know which year Suzuki Marauder headlight is the LARGER one than our stock light?

I don't think we've ever gotten an answer to this question. I check Ebay every now and then and only see 5.25" lights. Plastic as well.

Found out cruising through Marauder forums. The 97-04 Suzuki VZ800 Marauder OEM Headlight has the same mounting holes and beam angle as our Suzuki Boulevard S40 Savage LS650 .

Just make sure you ask about the 7" lamp, I'm not sure when they changed over to the 5 1/2" - 5 3/4" lamp, but watch out as slimy sellers are selling the smaller ones as the same as the 7", guess they lie to chics about size all the time too ;)

so if i am looking for one of these do i need one with a bracket, or just the bucket, ring, and glass since this one is supposed to fit our bracket?

not sure Stew. I just bought one COMPLETE w/brackets and is shipping out tomorrow. As soon as it arrives I will post pics of the swap.

Kris, I've contacted half a dozen "sellers" who claim the light they were selling was the OEM 7" only to have them come back with a 5" light. They were pulling lights off other bikes claiming they were original. Which is not the case. The 97-04 had 7" lamps not 5" ... just send the sellers a question regarding the lamp lens size. I bought the first one who came back with the 7" measurement ... and sent back another that LIED about the size

DesertRat,

Can you give us an assessment on the marauder bracket versus the savage bracket? I'm curious if I need to find a bucket with bracket, or just a good bucket, ring and glass if it bolts right up to our savage bracket?

Stew, if you get one, you will need it complete. the rear mounting for the swap is different. Ours is part of the bucket, where the marauders is multiple pieces.

notice the backplate is screwed on, and the bracket is then bolted to the bucket

So you bolt a bracket down and then bolt the bucket to the bracket?

I can do that Kris. Let me finish my homework tomorrow and since the seat is with my buddy getting kangaroo leather and daytripper'd styling done, I will have time to swap the light out. With pictures of course.
