Title: 2009 Savage Lower Fork Question
Post by mister44 on 03/20/16 at 02:22:57

Hi all, new to the forum...just picked up a 2009 Savage and I'm pretty stoked to start doing some upgrades.

I bought it with a damaged front end and the upper fork tubes are bent and it's caused the left side to leak. I was inspecting the front end to see what I might need to replace and noticed this notch on the left side lower fork and didn't know if it was designed this way or if it was broken off. Can any one help me out? Is this the way it is designed or do I need to replace it? Thanks

It is built that way....the notch keeps the plastic shield from rotating.
