Soo, I yanked the plug out today to do a plug chop, and upon reinstalling, a granule or 2 of debris or dirt may have feel into the cylinder. I should have blew the head off first before removal. Should I be worried of this doing any damage? :-[

Should you worry about it? Maybe. Here is what I would do. Swab out around the plug and see what sort of dirt resides there. If it is all soft stuff or really fine then I wouldn't be concerned. If it is gritty or there are hard chunks in it then I would consider cleaning it out. I you think there could be something approaching the size of a BB in there the safest thing would be to pull the head which is a lot of work. If it seems unlikely that there are any hard bits in there and you want to feel better about it then you could try some half measure like trying to vacuum it out with tubing. It probably wouldn't be very effective but it might make you feel better.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if anything fell in, and if it was It may have been a bit bigger than a grain of sand. The only reason I say is because when I went to put the plug back in, it felt a little gritty getting towards the end of the threads. I pulled it out not wanting to force it, and inspected the plug. There was a tiny piece of what looked like sand or something on the arm of the plug. I hit the pug with carb cleaner and compressed air, put some wd 40 on the threads and it went in without issue. In just concerned. :-/ thanks for replying by the way.

I've also cranked it a few times without and with the plug, but haven't started it.

Every one says to blow around the plug with compressed air before you take it out. That is a good practice but what I have found even better is to use a vacuum cleaner. Take your shop vac and stick the nozzle into a very small funnel (ATF size) and vacuum around the plug after you crack it loose and before you remove it.

Once the plug is out suction right down the spark plug hole. Always use copper coat or something similar on the plug before you install it again.

WD-40 will boil off.
