I had no idea that this kind of testing was required!
It must be an official test.....the guy is wearing a white lab coat and gloves!

Soooo cool!!!! Here I thought blowing stuff up in the name of science was the only fun thing engineers got to do. I was rooting for the loader tire and even destroying the ramp it got a close second!

They tried a Shinko 712 first,... but they're still waiting for it to land... :-/

I figured the third tire, low profile, to fall short.
Dude is pretty good at firing down the middle. I wonder if he can bowl.
The last big tire went through the ramp, but just barely fell short of the distance. Too bad that ramp wasn't tougher.

What science is to be gathered? How is this data useful for tire engineering?

I would like to see four tires, with wheels, attached to a Honda Civic , rolled down that ramp.

New Olympic event. Once they fix the ramp the guy in the lab coat goes down inside the tire.

I'd like to see a "smart car" positioned at the 44m mark and that last one rolled again... :o

Maybe each tire represented some segment of society. And the last was a Sumo wrestler.

Was there a point to this TV show? It seems like an awful lot of trouble to roll some tires down a ramp. I hope they were sponsored by the tire manufactures that were featured.
