Title: Do we have a source for annual production numbers
Post by RycaShawn on 01/13/16 at 09:09:25

The Savage and Boulevard have been on the active production line since 1986 but do we have a source for the number of motorcycles produced per year? Curious to know.

We might get a rough estimate if people posted their consecutive unit number. This is not a very popular motorcycle (outside of this website). You aren't going to find much info other than what the members here have found out for themselves.

We could use some more numbers
but from 1995 to 2008 we have 175-131 = 44,000
and 18,000 prior to that.

20 years?  where's the party? Suzuki needs to wake up and smell the birthday candles!!!!!

Curious:  any way to determine which country leads in S40 sales? Sales by each country?
Cheers!  8-)

I can't think of any better way for Suzuki to celebrate.....than to bring out a 650 Temptor for the US market!

Wow! that's the one I've been longing for since I joined this forum. Dave, you da man!
I'm also sure a petition to Suzuki would be ignored, as they seem to be asleep at the switch! 8-)

I have always thought that the geometry on the Tempter would be a whole lot better for going like a bat out of hell than the way the S40/ Savage is constructed...

It is interesting that the Tempter 400 was manufactured along with the Savage from 1997-2003.  I had always thought that it preceded the Savage in the early 80's.
I'm all for Suzuki producing a bike like this with the LS650 engine and fuel injection, a camshaft like the Stage 3, a real 5th gear overdrive, upgraded brakes and suspension, and a GOOD muffler that will perform properly.

Those are easy things to do and should not add much to the price since they already have all that stuff on the shelf now from other models.

Kenny G

And you have always been right
there was a reason all the overseas manufacturers made standards, they're all around better motorcycles
But 'Murica is stuck on style ATM, so cruisers rule
