Title: Corbin Gunfighter seat and fitment
Post by darthesteban on 01/05/16 at 11:02:09

Hi all,

I recently came across a Corbin seat and I love the look. How would I go about placing the seat onto my 88 Suzuki savage?

I have the normal corbin and it works out alright.  Regarding your question, Corbin supplies a nice bracket that fits the rear mounting points just right.  It should be fairly easy to install whatever seat you like.  It's always easier said than done though.

Best regards,

Is the bracket for the savage? Because that would be great and super easy. And is it on their website?

If you want a bolt on seat....I seriously doubt if the Gunfighter seat will work on the Savage without a fair amount of modifications to the seat or Savage frame.  The Triumph is shaped significantly different than the Savage.

It looks like the Gunfighter seat is made to fit a lot of models...not just the Triumph.

Some folks have been able to adapt seats for the Sportster onto the Savage.....maybe the Corbin Gunfighter for the Sportster could be made to fit.

I might try. I absolutely love that kind of cafe look but want to keep a comfortable seat as well. Came across the gunfighter by Corbin and  found exactly what I wanted, but they literally make a seat for everything but the savage hahaha.

I had a Corbin seat on my last bike and absolutely loved it. I'd recommend one even if it doesn't have the looks that you like.

For anyone that has a Corbin seat made for our bike: Is this a no modifications needed direct fit?

No modifications, fits real nice.  I like it better than the oem, but still leaves a little to be desired.  I also put a sheep skin over mine as well.

Best regards,

The Corbin seat that is made specifically for the S40, LS650 & Savage fit quite well, but they are made for someone short in the arms and short in the legs.

The seat pushes the driver too far front.

The best bet is to work on making the factory S40 seat fit the driver.

My upholstery guy stated that the way the S40 pan is made it is quite easy to make modifications to the foam rubber.

I have attached a pic of the seat that I had modified for my S40.

I can sit back far enough to be comfortable.

Kris,

Below is a pic showing a different view of the seat, for what it is worth.
