Title: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by DesertRat on 12/27/15 at 07:42:14 anyone have the data for correct jets which includes data for elevation and climate (humidity)? Is this even available from Suzuki or the dealers? |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by Serowbot on 12/27/15 at 08:05:34 Nope,.. we learn as we go. 1200ft is virtually sea level... adjustments start to be needed at 2500 to 3000ft... again at 5k or so... Generally, a #150/50 main/pilot works well for a Dyna/Kn'N filter type mod. I see you have a Dyna,... is your intake modded?... Try that, and see how it works for you. ...and a 2/3 spacer mod if you are willing. This, is a link...->Serowbot's carb tuning tips for beginners... Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by DesertRat on 12/27/15 at 08:08:08 thanks Bot, no mod on the intake what about all the other jets in the carb? are they changed at the same time? |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by Serowbot on 12/27/15 at 08:28:53 It's a simple carb.. Only 2 jets, Main and pilot... plus needle... Spacer mod, adjusts the needle... |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by DesertRat on 12/27/15 at 09:42:24 don't we have 4 jets? http://cdn1.bikebandit-images.com/schematics/schematics/suzuki/suz013/su0408028006.gif #16: JET,MAIN, 145 #18: JET,PILOT(52.5) #40: JET, PILOT, 230 #46: M/J 45 |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by Serowbot on 12/27/15 at 10:21:29 #40 #46, are air jets,, they don't meter fuel... |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by DesertRat on 12/27/15 at 10:31:31 so why don't we mess with them when "tuning" our bikes? |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by Serowbot on 12/27/15 at 11:24:19 'Cause we don't... ;D... If for some reason, you were radically changing jetting... say, going up past #200 on the main,... you might start playing with the air jets... We are trying to tune the carb... not re-purpose it... If you want to play with them,.. knock yerself out... It ain't necessary... |
Title: Re: Jet Set data and elevation, climate Post by DesertRat on 12/27/15 at 11:27:21 sounds reasonable Bot, thanks for the knowledge share ... |
