Title: Creating your OWN LANE
Post by DesertRat on 12/19/15 at 08:43:59

what say ye?

Looks interesting and may "help". I would like to see a wider line and larger icon converted for motorcycle use.

wonder what the LAW would think?

Get where you’re going safely! This LED and red laser beam bicycle safety light creates a virtual lane around your bike to help protect you while you bike at night. Not only is it cool looking, you’ll never have to worry about not being seen at night (or not being able to see where you’re going on unlit streets). It features a bright flashing light as well as a highly-visible laser lane to draw maximum attention to your presence and position.

Until some drunk/stoner target fixates on all the pretty lights and runs yer a** over. No thanks.

That's a great point oldNslow.

But I've experienced the sober ones target fixate while driving my truck. Had a guy follow me for miles through the city and urban areas until I got to my destination. He looked "lost" when "we" arrived.

Pretty cool idea! I wonder if it would make us safer.

Colorado, working the 300- 6 banger Ford van through the mountain roads, some woman got on my rear end. I finally pulled off and stopped. She did too. I opened and I leaned out the door, and pointed at her and told her I wanted her to go on and get away from me.
She looked totally shocked.
Not that I don't understand. I have had my moments.

I see bicycles on the road near my house a lot.....our local roads are popular with the area cycle clubs.  Some of them have really bright white LED lights that flash continually.....and they are very noticeable.

I sure am tempted to mount one on the motorcycle.....but I suspect that they would not be legal for that use.

I do have a white/yellow flashing LED strobe on the front of my motorcycle that is connected to my passing light switch - and I use that when I am not sure if someone sees me.  I don't know if it is legal or not - but I am fairly certain no enforcement officer who has scraped a bike up off the road will give me a ticket for trying to stay safe.

I was thinking of putting something similar mounted on the back of the motorcycle and displaying a blinking arrow on the back of my jacket, tied in with the blinkers and brake light.

I think if it projects the light onto the ground it would be illegal (at least here in florida), but if it was to project onto your back it could be used as another signal.

There is a helmet add-on that you fasten to the back of your helmet and it is blue toothed to your blinker system.
