Title: Battery AGM
Post by Padriac on 12/14/15 at 13:32:47

I bought an AGM battery before checking the old one and found that I already had  an AGM installed. Of course I threw out the packaging and it looks like I will be keeping the new one. Is there a good way to store this battery so I have it when I need it?

Also, I got the bike with a horrible unprofessional paint job and I'm going to have it painted. House of Kolor has a beautiful green, which as some of you know is the fastest color. ;) I can't put out all that money for fenders/side covers/tank so I'll probably do just the tank. If I use a stock paint color will it match if I don't do the rest of the metal until next year?

Once activated....batteries begin to age.  If you try to store one of them, you should put it on a battery tender every few weeks to keep it charged - but I would not recommend attaching the tender 24/7/12.  You will be money ahead if you find someone to sell your extra battery to - you pick if it is the old or the new one.

If you keep the paint sealed in the container - the color will be consistent enough that you won't have a color match problem from panels that are not bolted right up against each other.

I have heard the Triumph/Harley thing but not all this!  The battery "extra" I bought is a ThrottleX, too.    There's always this...

Check Google for pics of the stock '07 deep blue color.

I know one of the "blue" models looks more like a purple tint than blue under white light

I recently got a VN900 in Kaw's "Candy Plasma Blue." That high metallic / pearl neon blue draws the eye like fly paper. 99% of the comments I get on the bike are about the color.

Dark greens and OD are not easy to see out the corner of the eye.

Visibility is life on a MC.

That's why I wear orange rabbit ears.

Hey, J_O_G, if you add a hi-viz neon green bra under those orange ears you can pretty much do as you please on the streets. Everybody will see you and nobody will hit you because the last thing they want to do is meet you face to face. Too much 'splainin' to do...  :D

You wouldn't really wear a neon green bra would you?

HoK is tricky to work with. Sprays like water. Good finish if you are careful applying it.
