Well had my left knee surgery. It is strange to see it lined up straight
with my foot. Total knee replacement surgery.
I got to come home Thanksgiving Day. No turkey dinner as haven't had
much of an appetite.
Thankful for the Dr and wonderful Nurses and CNA's.
I am signed up for P.T. 3x's per week thru the month of Dec.
I did have my 1st day of P.T. on Friday. They gave me some while
in the hospital. Therapist gave me homework and I have been doing
it even though it hurts.
You know the saying, no pain, no gain..

I should be ready for the new riding season when it comes.
Right now it is cold and icky so even if I could ride, I wouldn't.
I am enjoying watching football and have some books to read as
well.
Therapist didn't want me walking too much right now as I need to get
the swelling down, so again, bend, bend, ice, ice..

Good luck with it. My wife had her left one done three years ago and says it is a lot better. She says that it still aches in the cold but is stronger.

Most of me aches in the cold... and I've never had any surgery... :-?...

Do your PT!!!!! I know people that have done it when they should, and kept at it, and those .. not so much.
Those that did it, are a LOT better off today!!

And.. heal fast.

Ouch......hope the pain is tolerable and you can get back on your feet (legs/knee) soon.

My father in law is not one who accepts being "told" what to do, and he did not do his therapy like he should have. He never got the movement back in his knees (had both done), and he won't bend his knees more than a few degrees.....and now he will never regain the movement as it has been years since the surgery. He waddles up stairs, falls into chairs and his car seat as he can't bend his knees to lower himself down, and the constant waddling has worn out his hip. He has lost the muscle mass in his legs as he doesn't use those muscles anymore.

So......do the therapy and get the motion back in your leg. It won't be easy, but it is certainly necessary for a full recovery. ;)

Yep, listen to the therapist, it will make your recovery faster and give you a way better chance of not having to repeat this procedure again. And you ain't missing no nice riding, as I sit in the cab of my truck at 4am texting this instead of the seat of my bike....in 27 degree weather at the ferry dock ;D

Best wishes to you. As the consensus indicates, do your PT. It really does make all the difference in the world. By the way, PT will hurt, probably much more than you would like. When I hurt my shoulder and had to do PT they told me to take half of one of the pain killers about a half hour before my session. I did not take the pain killer before my first session, I never forgot after that. ;D

A speedy and COMPLETE recovery..... :)

As I told #3 stepson, who is recovering from his second knee replacement.... "Well, if all else fails we can put the training wheels back on your Harley......." ;)

prayers..
I have to admit that the P.T. is grueling and yes
it hurts like hell after wards. Then again it has to
in order to get better.
At yesterdays session I was put on the bike. I am
not able to go all the way around and that is not
what they want me to right now anyways. I just
go back and forth and stretch the knee and leg out.
I have to tell ya, the icing for about 20 mins at the end
of session is the best part. My whole leg is inserted in
a wrap and then ice cold water pumped into it. It sure
makes it feel good.
OH their was a gal there yesterday that told me she was
where I am 6 weeks ago.. She made me feel better knowing
I should be walking so good in time.
My goal is to go without the walker and hopefully that is next
week when the staples come out..
