Title: engine tollerances, tightening torques etc???? Post by shifty biscuits on 11/25/15 at 04:31:35 hey dudes, i have been trawling the web looking for some kind of service manual for the savage. cant seem to find one without buying a dodgy looking cd of some random site. (are they any use?) its pretty weird i cant find sod all. i find it hard to believe a bike thats been in production this long has no technical reference material to be found. I just got hold of a spare engine and i plan to strip and rebuild it, hopefully port/upgrade/overbore it as i go if i can find parts. it would be nice to have something to hand to make the build a bit smoother, referencing tollerances and torques for instance would be nice. can anyone help with a link or any suggestions where i can find this information? cheers |
Title: Re: engine tollerances, tightening torques etc???? Post by Dave on 11/25/15 at 04:37:27 Clymer's has a manual, and it is what most of us use. Their are a few errors, and those are listed in the Technical Section. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1119775997 And....I suppose you can buy a service manual from Suzuki. |

Title: Re: engine tollerances, tightening torques etc???? Post by Dave on 11/25/15 at 04:47:08 I never said you could download a manual. The few times that one does come up it doesn't last long before it is shut down. The manual has a copyright. You need to buy one at a local store, or get one online. I provided you with a link to the Technical Section list of errors. |

Title: Re: engine tollerances, tightening torques etc???? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 11/25/15 at 15:20:29 They aren't cheap, but it's well spent money. Some of the special tools can be built and some are available to rent/borrow from forum members, just freight and deposit.. maybe a little for the hassle.. it's not for me to say.. just, before you buy , ask. |
