Title: My new ride for the next 40 days Post by old_rider on 11/09/15 at 22:09:57 Well, to make a long story short...... my radiation and chemo a couple years ago lessened my bone density and bone strength. The radiation treatments caused my saliva glands to stop working for awhile (that's why I drink so much when I eat) but have been getting better each month. Anywho.... my fillings are starting to fall out and some of my teeth are getting bad.... removal time. but in order to do that, my bones need to be "strengthened" with the help of oxygen and opening my capillaries to assist with healing... If you lay there for 40 days straight......your bones might be stronger but your muscle tone will go away! Hopefully you can get out and move around everyday. Careful what kind of shows you watch on that TV......if you steam up the glass the nurses will know what you have been watching! |

Like I said in my "facing my fears" post.... I hate dental trips.... and tight places, but this thing is glass so maybe i'll see my self through it... LOL :) I will actually do 30 days, then the dental surgery, then 10 more days... And just maybe get other benefits from it.... supposedly it will put more oxygen in my blood which might actually help heal that nasty compression fracture faster... |

Look on the bright side, that thing looks like it has both a speedo and a tach on it and by the looks of the numbering I think that thing will haul some booty. Let us know it if shakes like the savage when you get up around 65+. And you can just call us and tell us from the fancy phone it comes with. :o :o :o |

Title: Re: My new ride for the next 40 days Post by old_rider on 12/16/15 at 17:40:37 So, update.... did 19 days.... nurse says tomorrow and then they release me to the oral surgeon Friday to get 4 teeth pulled, then back in the can for only 10 more treatments! Cant wait for all this to be done, but looks like a year full of dental and expenses in excess of $6K.... soooo.... my trips will be limited this year..... unless I can throw a couple of my inventions out there and get something done with them.... Little stuff, won't be worth billions or anything.... i'm working on one just to "get my feet wet with the process". :-X |

Liquid diet....sigh.... At least they put me out for it, didn't have to worry about "the chair" LOL.... Face is almost back to normal after swelling..... Thanks for the comments.... :) |
