Title: Question:
Post by raydawg on 11/03/15 at 10:44:58

Should a pastor/minister be required to perform a gay/lesbian marriage?

If you want to expand on your answer, please do.

Title: Re: Question:
Post by thumperclone on 11/03/15 at 11:05:55

no
who could require them?

Title: Re: Question:

No, I don't think so...  I believe they eventually will, once it becomes a less controversial event,... but the separation of Church and State should allow them to refuse.
This is different than a baker or dressmaker that serves the public as a whole.
Churches,.. serve only their members.

Of course,... no church today, would exclude based on race as they once did...
... but,...
Who knows really... Maybe, looking at it from the historical past perspective of racial discrimination,... maybe they should be forced...
But,.. what gay couple would want to, against such animosity?...

All in all,... I think the legal rights are one thing,... and the religious another...

I have a buddy that had to change his religious affiliation, in order to marry at his wife's church...
...and both were Christian!...

I vote,...allow the Churches their bigotry... ;D...

Good one bot, I agree on baking cake, etc. and yes, doctrine in many organized religions make no sense

Some churches like Unitarian already perform such unions, but just like some have their own doctrine, which seems to make no sense, others can say them including couples of the same sex is not what they read in the bible.

Ok, next question since you passed  ;D

Should boys be able to play girl sports in school?

Why not ? The schools have pretty much abandoned all standards anyway. H'll, let the teachers play too, and the parents if they want to, on whatever team they feel like playing on. Can't be leaving ANYONE out. Might damage their self-esteem or their gender-identity, and who knows what sort of physiological damage that could lead to ::)

Title: Re: Question:

There is an age, right around puberty,.. when the girls hit their growth spurt earlier than the boys...
They might just kick their arse's!... ;D...

If I were king of the world... ::)...   I might draw the line at contact sports, like wrestling, etc...
...but,.. soccer, hoops, and baseball?... go for it...

At 18,... they may be sharing a foxhole...
Waddya' think about that?...
Again,.. with this one,... I'm conflicted... :-?...

Ok, how about public bathrooms with urnals or troughs and no partitions for toilets, open to all ages and sex?

...........................................

In the US you have baseball, whereas in the UK it's a girls game called 'rounders'.
How you have a 'World Series' with only one nation is a mystery, but that's another topic...

You have basketball, which in the UK is a girl's game called 'netball'.

You have rugby, but they all insist on wearing padded protection and helmets instead....... and then have the idea to call it 'football' !! when you can pick the ball up and run with it  ;D

All in jest, my friends, but the question was asked and I couldn't resist  ;D

Title: Re: Question:

I've been in a couple of bars with troughs in unisex bathrooms...

You mess with a lady, and there'll be a half dozen guys put you in the trough...
... no hope to get near a sink there though... ;D...

Toilets must have doors .... Unisex or not...
They should be soundproofed and airtight, too!... ;D...

PS... Hovis... Soccer is catching on big here... boys and girls...
Finally...

A number of years ago, I was in Leon France.
Waiting for a train, but had to pee.

So went in search of the, ‘Lue’,
Went down the hall, which looked like it could be,
and walked by a door, “” With a  WINDOW in it “”
Saw bunch of, ’stalls’. and some women standing by the stalls.

Gotta be close I said to myself.
Walked down the rest of the hall, and nothing.
On the way back, looked into the, ‘Windowed”, door again, and say a bunch of ‘urinals’, on the other wall.
So I went in.

Yep, ’stalls’ on one wall, ‘urinals’ on the other.

UniSex, 45 years ago.
Is that a, ‘Advance’, or is it a, ‘Past’.

In the UK,  the Lue, was, Just go outside, (in some), Pubs, and Pizz on the wall in the Alley.
That, was,  NOT, an, ‘advancement’ !

In UK when I was a kid,... the polite expression was to "spend a penny"...
Public toilets were coin operated...

It's probably 50p now... ;D...

If, it is a, ‘public’, Justice of the Peace.
Who is hired, and paid by, a entity which says, “Same Sex OK”.
(the Guberment), Then it is OK.
Or by a, ‘religion’, which says that is OK.

If it is by a, Pastor/Priest/Etc, who’s, religion, says no.
Then,  NO.

(Cheese and Rice, agreeing with Bot, again.   This HAS Got To Stop!)

However, if a, baker of cakes,
believes, that they should NOT, bake a cake for someone,
Biased on their belief.  (Religion)

Why then,  can I NOT,  ’SUE’,   (and WIN), from a  store,
that does Not sell, (or obtain for me), a certain meat product,
because their, ‘religion’ does not believe, in that meat product?

Exactly,  WHAT, is different ?

Now the, grey, Grey, GREY, area:
A, ‘Elected’ official, because of the, ‘religion’ they believe,
does not do something.
They are put in JAIL.   By a Guberment, which says:
“You WILL Do That”.

What is next?
The, Guberment saying: ‘You WILL eat Meat on a Friday, regardless of what your ‘religion’ says'.
OR
The, Guberment saying: “You WILL, eat Bacon, regardless of what your, ‘religion’ says".

The difference is,.. they don't sell pork... to anyone...

You can't demand pork from a candle shop either... they don't sell pork... to anyone...

The baker does sell cakes... but he don't sell pork either...

That's the diff...

If a vendor sells a product,... he can't refuse to sell it based on sex, race, or color... this would include same sex...
He can refuse service to individuals if they a bad customer... (i.e.,..rude, drunk, belligerent, etc,)..
...but you can't demand a product that a store doesn't sell.

PS... My apologies for my previous statement, in which you felt forced to agree...
I'll try to be more irritating in future... ;D...

Hey Bot, do you fancy selling me the Easter Bunny?

After all, we both know that the Easter Bunny doesn't exist, but as we are 'united in our disbelief' maybe we should be considered as 'believers in it's non-existence'? And start posts in forums about how we have faith in the bunny, and people who don't have faith in this bunny need to think about life, because, ....we all need faith.

God help me on the subject of whether the soup-dragon exists.....

Title: Re: Question:
Post by raydawg on 11/04/15 at 04:44:59

I side with bot on the pork deal....make mine bacon [ch128525]

Here is why, when they tried to trick Jesus about taxes and the coin, he answered this issue there.
Commerce falls under the direction of the government, and we are instructed to be good citizens as such. To go even further we all told to become Romans, when we are to witness to Romans, etc. in other words assimilate in a manner that will allow us to witness the love commandant firstly.....
If our faith is so shaky it can't stand an affront to it, then who's fault is that?
We are told afterward to shake the dust from our cloak and move on if our witness is rejected....
Is that because God thinks bot is dirt?
Heck no, he loves bot just as much as he loves us.
We are instructed in this manner because God knows we harbor animosity in our heart for being rejected, and as such, sin can use that avenue to gain a foothold in our lives if we don't just walk away from such an encounter and leave it to God.
All who have heard will be judged on that fact....
Not on our charges.....

Ps: don't let this round give you a big head bot, I still got you in my crosshairs  ;D
