Why did/is, the US spend/ing, Several BILLION Dollars, and is CONTINUING to do so, for the, 'constructing and maintaining', of an independent city for a new world capital ?

Is it so, that a delegate' from, 'biswmakckia', can come here
free, paid for by, his/her, government, (which the US gave them the money to do so), And tell the US What to do ?

I Think, Italy, may be a better place.
Or perhaps, even the UK !

I don't think the 'City', would matter a lot.
Pick one, Near a airport, as to not have a great inconvenience to travelers and staff.

I don't quite understand where you are going with this thread; although, John Rockefeller donated the land where the UN sits in New York. One would think a country like Switzerland would have been a good candidate.

And I would agree, PG, IF the real mission of the U.N.was what we are told, then the neutral country would seem to be the place. BUT, looking at who donated the land and everything the U.N. has done, I'm forced to question the true nature of and reasons for,the U.N..
I'd like to know how many foreign, blue helmet wearing troops we have in America.

All those people are an economic boon to the host city...
I'm sure, New York is happy to have them.

Other than that,.. what difference does it make?...
Their decisions will have the same impact, no matter the location.

Yea, that is TRUE !

However the handful, of people, in N.Y.C. who benefit, (Hotels/Restaurants/Bars/Cab's/etc).

Their BENEFIT, is PAID for, by Everyone Else !

Many debates on a, location for a NEW Stadium, for a Football team were discussed.

The BEST, by EVER-ONES, views, (The Voters/Payers)
was a place, out side the, ‘downtown’, area.

YET, Governor, ‘GOOFEY’, Over Rides, that, POPULAR decision,
