Title: 60s Legacy Plate
Post by 652cafe on 10/17/15 at 12:07:44

Got my 60s Legacy Plate from the DMV yesterday. Could not be happier with the authentic look...I guess if any forum members see me out and about...you'll know it's me now !

Congrats on the cool new plate!  I just noticed your "signature" and the comment about torque.  I'm in total agreement on that and it also goes for the back country roads I ride.  Lots of steep hills, blind curves and so on.  Torque keeps me from having to constantly shift, the S40 just chugs right along.

Thanks Engineer...yeah the plate really gives my bike the retro look. As far as torque v horsepower is concerned, I find that I can use and enjoy torque at every stop light, stop sign and exiting every curve without making a fuss and without actually breaking any speed limits. Just the feeling of that big push is exhillerating. I had a four cylinder bike back in 98 (Yamaha Maxim 550), I put 15,000 on it in 51 weeks...but my previous ride had been a Virago and I missed that low end torque ! I went quite a few years without a bike after that until the Ryca caught my eye. I would probably have bought it based simply on the styling and riding position etc, the fact that it is a single was just a HUGE bonus and has left me no doubt that singles and twins suit my riding style.
