is the 2004 wiring diagram the same for a 2006?

As far as I know there has not been anything changed in the electrical system after 2004.

You might find however that not all the colors in the wiring harness diagram are exact....not sure. They were pretty much the same on my 2007.

The factory service manual has a wiring diagram in the 2005 Addendum, which would indicate that it differs from the 2004 version. There is none in the 2006 Addendum. There is a Wiring Diagram in the 2007 Addendum. So I think it's safe to say that your 2006 is the same as the 2005. Here's a link to the 2005 wiring diagram:
