Title: Cam chain tensioner? Post by norm92de on 09/29/15 at 14:46:54 Is it possible to remove the rear cam chain tensioner without removing the cylinder head? I get the impression it is, based on the comments here. Suzuki says no in the workshop manual. So I suppose they are correct? |
Title: Re: Cam chain tensioner? Post by verslagen1 on 09/29/15 at 15:03:24 Yes the rear guide can be replaced w/out removing the head. You might need to remove the head cover and cam though. I did try it and was able to do it. I think I had to take the gear off the cam and remove the gear off the bottom. Then you can feed the tensioner guide up from the bottom. There's a ridge where the head starts and that may give you problems. just keep wigglin'. |

clutch cover, clutch and probably cam chain gear. don't even think about feeding it from the top. :-/ |
