Title: Oil for UK and Ireland
Post by irishjake on 09/29/15 at 06:56:35

After much research one company Exoll were very helpful. Their tech guy said that their Vimax 10w 40 contains 1400 zinc. It is not Jaso rated but that he had heard it had been used successfully with wet clutches. I took a deep breath and put it in my rebuilt engine. Well all is fine and at 20 euros for 5l great value. Ps they do a motorcycle oil but this is only 1200 zinc

I am OK with 1,200 -1,400 ppm zinc....and most likely your bike will be as well.

The problems seem to be caused by the modern oils that have reduced the ZDDP level down to the 600 ppm levels in an effort to reduce the stress on the oxygen sensor and catalyst....which aren't on the Savage.
