Title: Exhaust Issue
Post by DesertRat on 09/23/15 at 06:15:07

standing left side, I fired it up and exhaust hit my leg through the frame. what in the world? felt around, could not tell where it was coming from, but was back firing like a taco bell dinner.

hit the internet, nada! pulled the muffler (PITA BTW) and it had a nice round hole on the back side, looks like it was hit with a OXY/ACY torch or a plug blew out.

found the HD Dyna muffler swap in the Tech section, found one on chinaBay for $17 + $16 shipping. should be here next week.

The stock mufflers do eventually rust away and get holes in them....or the internal baffles come loose and rattle or block the flow.

Ok, hope you don't mind me asking this in the thread. Don't mean to hijack. But my stock muffler is looking in similar shape, minus the gaping hole - I took the header out for polishing and a large slab of rusted metal broke off from under the muffler (cowling?).

I mean, at this point I'm tempted to just replace the muffler - I guess when parts of metal start falling off then that's a sure sign to scrap it... or..?

Also @ Rat
Could you share a link to where you ordered the Dyna from? That's a real good price, is it original?!

Ahh it's from the US, sorry - I did find this for sale here in Germany, however I can't determine whether it's a Dyna or something..?

Could you check it out and tell me, I might bet on it if it'll work on my Savvy...
