Title: Fork Mounted Mirrors
Post by raven37 on 09/22/15 at 19:45:28

So for a winter project I'm swapping handle bars to some drag bars and relocating the mirrors to the forks. I picked up some clamps from Memphis Shades that'll make it an easy project.

Anybody do/see a similar setup like this?

With the mirrors on the forks.....I don't know how you will be able to look around your body or legs - your body is wider than the width between the fork legs.

Mirrors are normally on the ends of the handlebars so you can see past your body parts.  The mirrors on my Ninja are mounted on the fairing, and vision is limited as they just barely look past my torso.

You might want to "look into" some bar end mirrors. (Pun intended). ;D

I like bar ends, got them on my other bike. Just going a different route with this one.

As far as being able to see, my mirrors now are pretty much in line with my shoulders. That width would be about the same as when I change them. And I noticed today as I was riding, that my knee position is slightly narrower than that, so I should be good. Plus I'm going to look through my local bike shop for some straight post mirrors to help a little more.

So it shouldn't be too much worse than what I'm riding with now.

I'm wondering how I would even get bar end mirrors on mine, would love to but there looks to be round bar stock in the way  :o

Drill and tap and bolt the mount into the end?
If the junk in the bars moves, drill a hole in the bar, into the junk and pin it. Make sure you have a pin before you decide what drill bit to use. A little JB weld, and located under where the clutch lever mount
goes,,
You can win this.
