Title: Clutch cover gasket
Post by Mark P on 09/11/15 at 07:48:44

Want to check the cam chain adjuster, to see if its time for the famous Verslavy installation, but need info on a recommended source for the clutch cover gasket. I ASSume the oem gasket will not survive cover removal intact (2005 with 4100 miles), so want to have a replacement in hand.
Is the one selling on FleaBay for $19 of acceptable quality, or should I order from BikeBandit, local Suzuki dealer, or is there another recommended source?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mine survived... The clutch side is easier to save than the stator side...
That said,.. I'd have a new one handy, just in case...

Stator side,... you are dealing with a very magnetic attraction, that makes pulling the case smoothly difficult...
..(I boogered it bad... ;D)...

Also,... I bought a nicely cut, but too thick, aftermarket gasket, that would weep no matter how tight it was torqued...
Factory original worked perfectly...
Never again...
I'll buy OEM gaskets from now on...

vendors on fleabay are like summer fleas... everywhere... a link would help.

OEM gasket would be preferable, but I have used athena with good results.

Thanks, gents. Will go with OEM, either local dealer or PartZilla Marketplace on Ebay, which ever has the lower price.
