Post by MnSpring on 08/07/15 at 16:45:36 Many Many years ago, It is, ’supposed’ that a band/s of, Homo Sapiens, came across the Bearing Straight, from the North, and populated the N.A. Content. Land we know as Canada and the USA. It is Also, ’supposed’, that a band/s of, Aistec, Mayans, came from the south, and populated Central, America, and the area we now know as Mexico and the USA. Their are no, ‘Facts’, on ether, ‘theory’, But their are people who say, “From the North”, and others that say, “From the South”. Their are a Very Few, who say, ‘Both’. Lets imaging it was ‘both’. Who was here, first ? Is it possible, that a, ‘tribe/band’ from the North, fought with a ‘tribe/band’, from the south? Is it possible that, two people, man/woman, (one from each tribe/band) left, and started another, tribe/band, ? Again, who was here first ? Point is, the, ‘white’ people came to the area, now known as the USA and Canada. And, took over. Now, was, the, ’take over’, all on the UP and UP. NO, Not by the, ‘white man’, OR, the ‘Indian”. When does the, (Back in TIME) , STOP ? Let’s see, I was born in the early 1950’s, I am a, ‘white man’ , decent of Germain, LEGAL, Immigrants. Now their is a, Indian, or a Black man, who, 100 - 300 , 500 + Years Ago, says, I, am at Fault. WHAT !!!!!!!!! If someone is, ‘Black/Yellow/Brown/Red/White”, Skinned, It ONLY, matters, WHAT That person is like, as a PERSON. We are all in this together. But when a, person, of, ‘Black/Yellow/Brown/Red/White”, Skin, SAYS: They are, “MORE Equal”, than me, JUST , because of the Color of their skin. Or, who was here first! We got a BIG Problem !!!!! |

Funny story; I was out of town with our local guy and we were having dinner at an Applebees in a small town in Central PA. We got there early and sat at the bar (where I eat 90% of my meals...) It was 'Princess night' and they were setting up for a kids karaoke. In the bar area of an Applebees!........... . I heard that main song from Frozen sung 18 times we counted and one other song from that movie 5 or 6 more times. All sung by little 8 or 9 year old girls. It was funny at first, brutal a while later, but hilarious much later after the beers kicked it. |

That only makes a post from a valued and respected voice become nearly unreadable. |

I'm very familiar with 'Americanisms' in the language because of music, TV, cinema, and the internet. A dry sense of humour doesn't swim across the Atlantic so easily, maybe. William Burroughs (for example) whose prosaic style is relatively modern as compared to Hardy, is harder to read... So, I hoped you liked the Hardy novel, but it's relevance I question. Commas. My tongue-in-cheek comment was not meant to offend, but to point out that by trying to over-emphasize a point by using (commas, bold, italics, font size) the point becomes under-emphasized because it's a lot harder to read as prose. This is entirely different to using alternative words for things. And “I’m bonna hot the LOO” was probably "I'm gonna hop to the loo" I can't say I'm aware of posting much about internal US politics that isn't valid from a european/world perspective. I've certainly never suggested who should be president, or who people should vote for. (Although I've pointed out the idiocy of a candidate). Thatcher will have to wait for a later post ;) |
