Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/05/15 at 22:38:06 Empowering... Mind set is crucial in any endeavor... This is what meditation does... it changes nothing, except your focus... ...and that is everything... ;)... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by justin_o_guy2 on 08/05/15 at 22:52:51 I see your point. |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/06/15 at 03:49:43 Gee, I can't help but think in today's environment Boggle would be called an extremist, handing out weapons to attack threats to them..... So only those he helps, can survive, forever. |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/06/15 at 06:53:12 Those weapons aren't for hurting people though... I'm afraid if I slayed my inner demons there's be no one left to talk to... :-/... ;D... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/06/15 at 07:01:31 ;D |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by MnSpring on 08/06/15 at 15:45:47 Very nice, and very, ‘feel good’. And ABSOLUTELY, NO Problem, helping someone who needs help. But when OVER 3/4% of the people, (going to use a general term here) Are on, ‘Welfare’, and those 3/4 %+ people do NOT need help, they are JUST LAZY. Now, That's a problem. http://www.cato.org/publications/policy-analysis/snap-failure-food-stamp-program-needs-reform http://www.themainewire.com/2013/05/democrats-buying-junk-food-food-stamps-awesome-mainers/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2014/07/24/need-food-maines-governor-wants-you-to-work-for-it/ http://www.rightwisconsin.com/dailytakes/208285541.html Etc, Etc, ETC ! |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by HovisPresley on 08/06/15 at 15:51:43 Sorry, but is that 3/4 % or 75%? Serow, any pics of those inner demons? ;) ;D |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/07/15 at 08:54:14 The actual number is about 12%... (maybe Mn means 3/4 of them shouldn't be?)... As long as the wage gap continues to grow, this number will only rise... :-?... http://www.thecheapplace.com/image/cache/data1/data/Product-images/patches/2015/06/2/2/P4718-sometimes-i-wrestle-with-my-inner-demons-other-times-we-just-hug-and-eat-cheesecake-patch-p4718-320x200.jpg |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/07/15 at 09:13:40 Bot, could you elaborate on they prediction please. Also supply sorce of data too if you can, thanks.... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/07/15 at 10:18:49 From Mn's first link... "Today, roughly 48 million Americans receive SNAP benefits, costing taxpayers more than $78 billion per year. Yet according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), nearly 18 million American households remain “food insecure.”" 48m is about 12% of 350m... Since the 70's,... minimum wage has not kept up with inflation,.. Middle class and lower wages have stagnated... New jobs are mostly in hospitality, food service, and caregiving... "service" industries that can't be sourced out to overseas... So,... we are increasingly needing to expand social services... The solution?,.. is to penalize the outsourcers... Outsorcerer's?... :-/... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/07/15 at 11:00:39 Cool, got ya..... I think we do no one any good by just handing out support without constant verification of need and punishment if abused, it hurts the real folk who honestly need it, removing the resources they are entitled to, and shifting the attention away from the real need.... I agree about blue collar jobs that have been the backbone of the middle class, and a important element in sustainable neighborhoods and a jumping off point to class rise ( wealth ). I think to fully understand why we need to look at all the forced constraints private businesses were/are saddle with, from environmental to social/PC correctness. Tell me, why is the NBA exempt from diversity requirements? Is it because albino Asia lesbians can't shoot 3 pointers? |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/07/15 at 11:12:02 You tell me why anybody watches basketball... :-/... Silliest game I ever saw... ;D... People get paid to dribble?... :-?... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/07/15 at 12:32:28 We need an agent, all we do on TT is dribble..... Hey John [ch128513] |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Kris01 on 08/07/15 at 13:12:26 I say that they mandate a law that makes you pass a drug test before you receive any welfare. If you can't eat, how do you afford drugs? :-? |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Serowbot on 08/07/15 at 13:41:48 Then, once you find they are on drugs,.. you imprison them for $70k a year, rather than give them food?... :-?... |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by raydawg on 08/07/15 at 14:05:19 No drug test, c'mon, we still have do process.... Punishment should be more like roadway maintenance or graffiti removal type stuff, maybe even mandatory trade school to become armed to provide for themself |

If I remember correctly, a couple states tried to pass legislation like that. It didn't go very far and the argument was the rights of the welfare recipients would be violated. I think it had more to do with politicians getting votes in future elections. Best regards, |

Na, just, STOP, giving them, FREE FOOD ! Many years ago, I worked at a 'hardware/value' store. Right accost the street their was a big Food Store, to the left their was a 'Bar'. Every month, first Tuesday, was, 'Food Stamp', day. (Long before their were the fancy, CC 'Like', things) Their was a STEADY, Stream, of people, going from the, 'food' store, to the 'BAR', with a bag, and they walked OUT of the, 'Bar' with a much smaller, 'bag'. (Kinna Long and narrow) And that Friday, that, 'bar' had a 'HAM' feed ! Let's see, (at that time), a average Ham cost 9.00, and a quart of Windsor cost 5.00) As Kris01 said: " ... law that makes you pass a drug test before you receive any welfare. ..." Don't have to put them in Prison, just DO NOT, give them, FREE things, (Paid for by the Hard Working TAX, payers) |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by Steve H on 08/08/15 at 06:27:56 If they had drug testing, they'd be notified a couple weeks in advance when to come in for their "random" drug test. It's just the way the PC government works. |

Exactly! Make them prove a need. I work with a guy who is lazy to the point of sleeping on the job. Then he complains about not being paid enough. Sometimes he doesn't come to work. He's in the food stamp line! |
Title: Re: Boggle the Owl Post by justin_o_guy2 on 08/08/15 at 19:08:12 We otta have every government employee tested. That's TOP ,down, D.C., and all of them. |
